PROBLEMS

OK, so I've got a '57 Harley that is about 47 years old and, as you can see from the "Before Pic", needs plenty of work.  The most obvious problems are:

the neck has been raked and it has about 10 over tubes in the forks
leaks lots of oil
the fork tins are missing
the headlight is not right
the 12 volt elec. system is not original
leaks lots of oil
the side car loops are missing
the bobtail rear fender is not right
the seat is not right
the exhaust system is not right
leaks lots of oil
needs paint

And that's just the visual things.  I had the folks at Custom MC Services do a major tuneup on it to at least make sure that it was safe enough to ride for the rest of the summer before I started working on it.  The main thing that they found is that the engine has very low compression.

Who knows what else I will run into as I tear it down and rebuild it.
